I can't believe this is already the middle of January! The weather has been so wet, windy and grey here that I am yearning for a bit of colour to brighten the days. I am always surprised, when the Autumn/Winter fashion collections come out, to see so many dull and dark colours chosen by the designers. Why must we wear black, browns, greys, muted shades of blue, green, red, etc...?
I have been wanting to knit Carrie from Kim Hargreaves' Misty for a very long time now... I don't like to work with cotton very much and wanted to knit this cardigan in a wool/wool blend yarn. My heart was set on a bright and cheerful shade of pink. Unfortunately, to mirror fashion trends, knitting wools usually offer a muted palette compared to knitting cottons. I went to my local yarn shop and found exactly what I wanted: Bergere de France Caline in a beautiful shade of pink called "Kitty".
Now I will have to keep away from all chocolates and be good to slim enough so that Carrie will fit me when finished...
Oh my, the colour you have choosen is so very bright and pretty, what a happy and cheery picture on such a grey and dark day here. Love love love that pink, I could imagine so well how fantastic it will look when wearing Carry on the early spring days. Fresh and clean and like a wonderful bunch of tulips. You see, I am completely fascinated and can´t wait to see more pictures!
With best wishes,
Suzi
