At last we had some sunshine this week-end and I can show you now the top I made a week ago !... I am really pleased with it and I am pretty sure I will make another one for the Summer. This one cost me virtually nothing: the polka dot fabric was bought ages ago as a remnant for £1 and the collar was made out of an old bed sheet!
The pattern is New Look 6808. I love the different collars. The pattern was indeed easy but I made a few modifications such as no waist darts and no side zip. I just wanted a no fuss top. Somehow, I find the idea of a side zip on a blouse a bit weird... However I fell in love with the bow collar version.
This is so very very charming, love your new top a lot. Everything. The dotted fabric, the design (so comfortable for hot summer days) and the pretty neat little bow. Is New Look an English sewing company? I am asking because I love your top so very much, I have to put it on my list in any case and buying this patterns in advance will make sure that one day I am starting to sew such lovely clothes, too.
Wonderful and pretty and gorgeous, love it so much,
with my best wishes,
Suzi

I have a weakness for polka dots, collars and bows, and you've got them all in one top. And I like that small sleeve too :) This pattern has so many options, fun to experiment with different looks. I have a top with side zipper and the strange thing is that I don't need it to get the top on and off, makes me wonder what it's for??
