Interweave is planning a special issue for Autumn 2011 dedicated to Jane Austen. Submissions are now taken for knitting patterns and articles. No, I am not going to submit anything but I am quite excited by the thought of the final product...
I love this sort of competition. One I have in mind in particular is Marie Claire Idees yearly themed "concours". I am amazed at the creativity of people and am always looking forward to seeing the results.
I am sure there will be mittens and shawls in that issue but I am curious to see what else will be there. I hope someone will design a garment. A waiscoat for Mr D'Arcy perhaps or a gown for Elisabeth?
Marie Wallin, for Rowan Magazine 39, had already designed a Regency style gown which took my breath away at the time. If Jane Austen and the Regency period inspire you, take up your sketchbook and needles and start designing!!!
