I have a couple of projects in mind which require buying new yarn... But before I do that, I have decided to be good and use some of my stash first a) to make room and b) to give my purse a post-Christmas break...
So out came all my knitting books on the table and the agony of chosing the right pattern for the right yarn, checking if the quantity of wool was right, hunting for the right size needles, etc...
And my final choice has come from the Vintage Style book and is:
The wool is Yorkshire Tweed 4ply in shade "blessed". I will not add the beads but intend to purl a stitch instead.
This cardi is at its infant stage at the moment, so no pictures yet but I can tell you that this yarn is lovely to knit with...
That's a beautiful cardi and I can't wait to see your version :)

That's the yarn which I'm using for Suzette, I like it a lot, very 'rustic'! I think I'd like to make fairisle gloves from the leftovers (in the distant future)
Dawn:)

What a wonderful colour choosing, I like it so much. I have planned to knit it also without beads and now I am really waiting for a photo of yours. And in the meantime I now upset all my intensions and be yarn shopping!

That's on my list of "must knit some time very soon" too. I've always liked the small collar on that one, it looks so neat.

Joy est un modèle qui me fait de l'oeil depuis un moment !
Je me demande pourquoi il n'est pas dans mon top 5 !
Tu le tricotes avec des aiguilles de quel numéro ?

That is such a lovely cardigan. Two of my friends are planning to make this same cardigan... I am planning to start the very similar looking Salina in the next few weeks. Looking forward to seeing your version! I like the idea of the purl stitching instead of beads.

I absolutely LOVE the book and the sweater. I ordered my yarn from Jimmy Beans Wool last week...in the color Enchant. I'm not sure if I'll do beads or not?! Can't wait to see yours!

I am really into Joy as well - I'm sure you'll do a beautiful job. I'm interested to see how it turns out with the purl stitches instead of beads, which is something I was considering, too. Have fun!

Lovely choice - and should be a little less fiddley without the beads.

Tu as choisi là mon modèle préféré de tout mes modèles préférés ! Mais honte à moi, le nombre de perles m'a toujours découragée... J'ai vraiment hâte de le voir sur tes aiguilles.

It's on my favourite pattern list and I bought some blue Yorkshire 4ply tweed in the sale last year. It's gorgeous and I can't wait to see how you get on with it.
